MENSWEAR TRENDS
FOR SPRING/SUMMER 2012
SHOUTS ANDROGYNOUS!
GLAMOROUS MENSWEAR TRENDS
IN DITSY FLORALS AND EXAGGERATED
ONES FOR THE COMING SPRING/SUMMER
2012 MENSWEAR COLLECTIONS
BY MIKE KAGEE
To define menswear collections in 2012 is swinging androgynous!
The key shapes in mens upper's and lower's after reviewing
international menswear fashion trends. Prints and patterns in
Liberty and florals will dominate runways and up to date
international fashion magazines in the Spring/Summer 2012
collections. The introduction of tie&dye and colour blocking
for women on the runways will swing towards mens fashion.
FLORALS WILL BE VISIBLE ON THE RUNWAYS
The ruling prints for Spring/Summer 2012 will be checks
florals, stripes and tribal.
Trends will become more unisex and leaning towards
androgynous as time goes by with womens fashion having
a huge influence.
THE TRIBAL PRINTS WILL MAKE A COMEBACK
Colour blocking in mens fashion and overflowing from
womens fashion trends has been the most prominent on
runways in both Milan and Paris
Contrasting colours like bright blue, yellow, green and red
were seen with soft and neutral tones like blue, tan and beige
making the trends more glamorous.
Florals are no longer regarded as feminine and defined as
androgynous. Ditsy florals , medium sized and exaggerated
ones will be equally popular for men.
Abstract but colourful flowers that resemble tie&die along
with a combinaion of stripes and tribal looking florals
