Dedicated to the protagonists of Italian creativity
and my first hand experience of Etro products
and having met the Etro family and having attended
the Etro collections in Milan I dedicate this update
to the iconic fashion house run by the Etro family.
The Italian made Etro label came into existence in
the sixtees and seventees when the fashion scene
was dominated by a multi-ethnic spirit evocative
of the great journey to the East.
It produced textiles that were recognised and appreciated by all the great fashion and interior designers and set a stamp of approval that made the
the Etro label famous...............
The Etro family began using textiles and fashion as a
mode of art rather than a mode of expression.
Today the company is managed by the four Etro
children, Jacopo manages textiles, leather goods
and the collection, Kean is responsible for the
menswear collection, Ippolito is the CEO and Veronica
is responsible for the womenswear collection.
The paisley pattern is a constant point of inspiration
for the Etro family as it is an ancient decorative
feature originally from Mesopotamia where it
symbolizes the shoot of the date palm.
The Etro collections will continue to suprise
and excite as long as it is run by the
world famous Etro family with the DNA
of the brand running through their veins.
