Iris Apfel was 83, and 13 years into her retirement when she became a World
fashion celebrity the year was 2005 and the Metropolitian Museum 
in New York staged a exhibition of he glamorous wardrobe that included
some of Apfel's collection of exquisite fashion pieces by famous
and iconic Parisian designers and New York designers.
Seven years on and Apfel is a great deal more famous than what she 
was when she was 83 years. 
Iris Apfel now has an entertainment lawyer and her own range 
of costume jewelry, she has also become a muse for New York Fashion.
Famous American designer Ralph Lauren based a 2006 collection
on her upholstery fabric as a tribute to her work as a textile designer.
MAC Cosmetics launched a range of Apfel's colours
including Pink Pigeon and Scarlet Ibis.
Iris Apfel remains a world fashion icon and celebrity.
