MY MANY YEARS OF VISUAL STYLING
AND MY POSITION AS CREATIVE
DIRECTOR TAUGHT ME HOW TO
USE MY CREATIVE SKILLS
AND ALSO HOW TO USE MY HANDS
I NEEDED TO BE THE CREATIVE
AMBASSADOR AT LARGE
AND EDGIEST PERSON
IN WINDOW DISPLAYS
AND ON THE RUNWAY
MIKE KAGEE

Besides working on collections I found
a clever and imaginative way of using
inexpensive and easy to get materials than
expensive budget straining purchases
for wondow and interior displays.
What is more readily available than
yesterday's Italian newspapers or
just piles of them all stacked up to
use as the perfect prop. Artist's materials are very available and paintings and sculptures can be
borrowed from galleries and artists
seeking exposure. Easels can become
fixtures and frames can be used in all
shapes and sizes -in natural wood or
gilded and painted in a rainbow of colours
they are adaptable to a multitude of uses.

It is the illusion that counts in window
displays to create the perfect look
and feel and message you trying to get
across to your consumer and if you try
to feel the theater from your window
space you will certainly attract the
 audience.You can do visual displays
using utter simplicity but it is
important to use a colour palette
on trend and that the consumer can
 understand and identify with.

Freshness of style, a prerogative of
   new business.The changing
   expressions with strong impact are
   the essence of window design.The
space itself is free from the conven-
   tionel styles. With it's powerful
   merchandising, the shop responds
visually to the latent desires for taste
   and trendiness of the targeted
   market and consumer group.

Great iconic fashion house's renown for
 absolutely amazing window displays
 are Barney's New York, Macy's
 Bergdorf Goodman, Printemps
 Departmental Store in Paris
 Selfridges and Harrods in London
 and Bloomingdales
