International fashion designers show their love of
African and South African fashion..........
The year 2012 brought a re-emergence of African inspired motifs
prints, textiles on international catwalks. European fashion
houses such as Burberry and Vivian Westwood clearly
influenced by various cultures and landsapes in Africa.
Western fashion publications took notice of the frenzy
surrounding African influences. Influential Vogue magazine
in it's special edition as early as last year featured two African
women known for their fondness of African inspired wear,
Ethiopian Julia Sarr-Jamois fashion editor of the London based
Wonderland Magazine...............

Arise Magazine editor Helen Jenning has bee applauded
for her book 'New African Fashion' since her tenure as the
editor of Arise Magazine. Jenning embarked on a visually
spectacular and comprehensive guide to the African fashion
industry which explains why African fashion is making it's
mark internationally from Europe to New York especially.
Burberry Prorsum features a collection with a East
African feel, bringing together a diverse range of textiles
and colours, earthy hues were brightened with splashes
of purple, bright blues and grassy greens and textured
wax prints and geometric stripes with an African feel
Missoni, Michael Kors and Alberta Ferretti followed.....
